when using them do you need to buy a clearcoat one? or do you need the actual color and another one for clear coat?

I just read through the FAQ on the website and found this info that may or may not answer your question:
Q. How do I get a high gloss finish?
A. Make sure every coat is dry prior to applying another coat of paint. For an even higher gloss, you may purchase one of our clear coat pens from us.
I'm also interested in hearing more comments on the paint pens, although, since Heather from DP endorses them, they must be good, eh?
Thank you for your comments.
The way the paint is made, you do not need a clear coat pen. The paint dries with a sheen. If you want a lot of extra sheen, then you can apply a clear coat on top of it, however, make sure not to use too much. It is very easy to make it look globby if you get too much paint on the chip or scratch.
Clear coat works the best on a white scratch on a gold or silver car. After first trying to buff or melt the scratch, and some of it still remains, when you apply clear paint to it, the scratch just blends in to the paint. Again, this only really looks good on silver or gold cars.
What about the white used on the roof/mirrors of some models? There's not a white other than Pepper White listed. I'm ready to order a Chili Red pen and would like a white to cover a couple of chips on the roof if you've got something that will match.
I have one for my Indi Blue...works perfectly. As jcadp said, we need a white for the roof/mirror...thanks

Well, I e-mailed them, gave them the paint code on the color tag on my car, which was confirmed by the dealer and their response was that the color is silver and for a mitsubishi. So, now MINI doesn't even know the color codes for their own cars???? Maybe that's why even they don't have touch up paint. Freaking unbelievable.

Does anyone know where you could buy a can of spray paint in factory colors, something you could use to paint mirror covers and such?
Mine's Electric Blue.........
Not that I've seen (but I haven't looked that hard), if you have the tools/talent or know someone that does the best option for something like that may likely be to have the color mixed to shoot on with an air sprayer.
I have never seen them for the MINI. BTW, I have learned the reason you can't get certain MINI touch up paint is even dumber than their "solution" to the hidden storage area rattle.

You can use them. I ordered a few spray cans from them when I had my Civic to paint a Carbon Fiber hood. Came out really nice.

I bought their product and I love it! Its great for small chips and I love the fact that they were able to match my color perfectly and I do have a rather rare color (royal grey)
