Just moved to CT

I just moved to CT a few days ago and I am looking for a good tint shop.

I was living in VA before and wanted to wait till i got into CT before I tinted the windows since VA has much more restrictive tint laws.

Any good experiences or suggestions for tint shops in the Greater Hartford area?

I dont think they do tints but Camaro Signs in norwich does a real good job with vinyl graphics. If they don't do tints Im sure they know someone who does. I envy your move btw. As a CT native living in MI i miss the roads, specially now that I have a car that can really pound them

Forgot to mention. Wherever you end up going, make sure they offer you a complete warranty against fading, purpling, and peeling or you might and up with a lousy quality job. Any place that offers a warranty is probably more expensive but its worth it rather than having the tints fall off or make your car look like someone smeared grape juice on the windows

Where in CT did you move to? I am currently in CT, but relocating to North Carolina early next year.

Welcome to CT!

Hey Aeromax. I am between Westport and Norwalk. When are you planning on getting a MINI?

Azwed, how goes the twisty search in CT? I grew up in Litchfield. You've got some great hilly back roads pretty close to you if you search them out with a topo map. New Hartford, Hartland, Barkhamsted, Harwinton...

I hope, with LOTS of hope, that I will be getting by the end of the year. I have some "finance" issues to deal with first, and I told myself getting a mini will be my incentive to get it all tied up. What color mini do you have? Maybe ill see it around.

Mine is a British Racing Green MINI Cooper S with a white roof. I have the driving lights on the front grill, and also a euro style license plate in the front.

I am usually wearing a baseball hat (I work in a VERY casual office). Make sure to honk your horn and wave if you see me (then post it on here so I know it was you). And don't confuse me with the guy who drives a green non-s Cooper around Westport. He also wears a hat, and my friends who can't tell between a Cooper and an S tell me that they always wave at him by mistake.. thinking it is me. Lol.... just look for my euro plate!

Cheers!

Where do you get a euro plate? Obviously it's not real of course, but do you just get old ones off ebay or something? A custom one would be sweet.

Actually, mine is a real plate from England. A close friend of mine works with people over there, and somebody knew somebody who worked at a place where you get your plates, and so he was able to get me one. I even got it with numbers that match my CT plate!

But you can find them on ebay, and there is also a site out there that will let you pick the country you want one from, and the numbers. I can't remember it at the moment, but a few minutes on Yahoo or Google should turn it up.

Makes the car look cool in my opinion!

I am going to the Haunted MINI Rally hosted by the Ocean State MINI Club in RI. Were you talking about that one or a different one? (I know there are more than one).

Hi there...I'm in Simsbury, right around the corner from you. There are a couple of good tinting shops in the area. I have had work done at a place called Tint Master. I think they are in South Windsor or East Hartford. There may be places around here that do it also. Check with Jo Di's in Canton. They are a sound shop, but they will know who does tinting. You could also check with Tweeter in Avon. The installers there should know.

Welcome to the area. I've lived here all my life. If you see a CPR/B with a JCW kit and PIAA lights, it's me. I live in Simsbury and work in Farmington, so I'm usually around.

Sorry for the late reply, I've been traveling a bit for business and have not checked in here in too long.

.
