After tons of GTG’s were all you do is stand around in a parking lot and smack wood, it is time to have a GTG of a different kind…one that is fun, gets you out driving, and could potentially put cold hard cash in your hand…….
The Dash for Cash is a very simple idea…it is open to all VW/Audi/BMW/Mini drivers who are looking to make some money in time for winter projects and Christmas shopping. The idea is to get from point A to point B and back again in as close to the posted time as possible. The details are below…..
***************************** OFFICIAL RULES: As we all know, no event is worth someone getting hurt or worse, so we must state the official standpoint on how you drive……..We will post a time for the round trip that you must drive. It will be based on a reasonable speed over a reasonable route. The car that comes closest to this time and does not go under wins. If you go under the time, it means you were excessively speeding and/or being reckless, so you will be disqualified. Also, if you attempt to cut into a line that is waiting to be checked in, or do not listen to an official, or are seen to be driving like a maniac by an official, you also will be disqualified on the spot.

If you do all this and have the time closest to the posted on, you will win. The Winners get:
*Based on a full field of 125 cars. Fewer entries will result in a reduced award amount.
The entrance fee for the event will be $35….it is not a race, but a timed road event. Beat the clock, and you cash in……..
We will be leaving from the parking lot of Jillians, 261 Airport Plaza Blvd., Farmingdale, NY 11735. The turn around point will be at Planet Hollywood, 1540 Broadway, Located at 45th & Broadway in Times Square.
You can use any route you would like….the winner will be the person who knows the roads the best in the NYC/LI area, and can maintain a good average speed…high speed will not win you this event, as this is not a race.
Details:
Meet up will be 7:00p on Saturday, November 29, 2003 and roll off will begin at 8:00p. Cars will be started and not leaving as a group. This event is rain or shine……cost is $35 per car.
Please stay with your car upon arrival so that you can be checked in and placed for the roll off. There will be 125 cars with us to deal with so we will need your co-operation. Again, any cars that do not listen to the event officials will be disqualified.
