6th Annual Vanderbilt Cup Race Centennial Celebration 8/30/2009

The 6th annual celebration of the of the Long Island Vanderbilt Cup races will take place on Sunday, August 30th, on the beautiful grounds of the Nassau County Museum of Art in Roslyn, NY.

This year there will be both a car show and demonstration runs by both historic and modern race cars around the Museum grounds.
The Alco #6 - Black Beast Racer that ran in the 1909 and 1910 Vanderbilt cup and the inurgual 1911 Indy 500 will also be on hand possibly taking part in the demonstration runs.

More info about the history of the Vanderbilt cup races and the events can be found at: www.vanderbiltcupraces.com (sorry site has lots of great info on the races but not too much about the event on the 30th)
