We usually see Molly from Sante Fe in her new Mini at our SWMS events. SWMS = SouthWest MotorSports. We do several driver school, road race, and street car lapping events each year at Sandia Motor Speedway's 1.7 mile 14 turn road course.
Club details are at http://www.swms.org . Spectators, sponsors, benefactors, workers, students, lappers, and drivers are all invited. Might even have an old Mini from Colorado racing (blindingly quick last year). Have a number of BMW's participate too.
On track groups are - students, street car lappers, open wheel, vintage race, and contemp race. If you haven't seen Sandia you should. It is a sharp facility. The road course is very demanding (just ask the big pony Viper drivers who've experienced the wall up close). For example, does turn 2 require lifting? Does anyone know the best line thru 3 & 4? Is 11 & 12 really one big arc? How fast can you go at the end of the straight?
Workers get a chance for a free night in Taos courtesy of John Slenes and Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza - http://www.newmex.com/indianhillsinn . Post or email any questions (I read email more often than the forums) - jfslenes@aol.com . It is amazing how many people don't know about Sandia or have never been to the track. That will change if you each tell at least 10 people about the track between now and October 9!
