Well now that Howards officially done on public radio, I need to make the switch over to sirius. Looking at units I think the JVC SR2000 would be a good fit. Large display, large buttons, remote and amber light up display. Just seeing if anyone has this and maybe some pics of it mounted. I'd like to get an idea if I can mount it without looking out of place or gawdy.

I've had Sirius for a couple of years now and I LOVE it. Howard was a bonus!
Here's are a couple photos of the instalation I did a while ago.
I didn't want to install the antenna on the roof so I installed it on the dash. It works great and I don't have any drops that I wouldn't get otherwise:
Here's a picture of my Kenwood PnP unit below the toggle panel:
All of the wires are completely hidden and I can pull out the unit and pop it into my other car whenever I want.
The only problem wass that even though the lighter socket is unused, it's difficult to plug in a power adapter (like for a cell phone) since there isn't a whole lot of clearance. I wired another lighter socket (courtesy of Radio Shack) on my parcel shelf to take care of this problem.
Would have rather had an amber display, but I already had the Kenwood. I put a Sirius Sportster in my wife's car that has a red/amber display which matches her Audi interior perfectly.
Nuff,
Your install looks great. I bought my Sirius unit this week. I plan to install in the same area. I didn't know where to install the antennae and you have it on the dash. How does that work? Is the signal stable?
Where did you dress the wiring for the antennae? Is it pushed into the edge of the dash along and around the edge, or did you get it into the dash assembly somehow?
Please let me know- I plan to install mine this weekend.
thanks,
Mapman.

I plan on installing the antenna in the same area on the dash. Seems to be good spot. My gf has XM in her car with the antenna on the dash but off to the side and is only disrupted near tall buildings. I think the middle will help with that.
Also anothe question, did you subscribe for a year at a time or monthly. I'm trying to figure out the most cost effective. Thanks
I just got the same JVC PNP.. I'm going to Install it as soon as my aux port comes in. I'm going to get some velcro and velcro it to the left side of the steering wheel next to the vent. It's just high enough so I can see the display through the steering wheel, but can't see any of the buttons or anything else. I'll use the remote for changing channels..etc.. also all the wires and everything goes under the dash and is hidden. I'm going to put the antenna on the dash like that picture. I'll post some pics when I get it installed!
