Pleasssse help, i have the skills to replace the whole front end but somewhat lacking when building a sound system. like many r53 owners that have the hk system, my amp went out a while ago and i would like to finally get it replaced. So not to bore anyone with a long story, heres what i got so far doing research on forum and online:
I have a jvc arsenal system going in, have a stereo harness adapter for it and also one to adapt to factory harness.
When i removed the stock stereo, there were only 10 wires on the factory harness, i have identified most of them but didnt understand what the red white yellow wire does (pin 9).
I also only found wires to the hu for the front speaker wires only, that means that the rear is connected to the amp right?
So is it true that the correct way to replace this system fully is to get a 4 ch amp, only connect the power of the stock harness to the aftermarket hu, run rca cables from hu to amp and run all the wiring to the four speakers (aftermarket speakers) from the amp? Do i still need to connect the front speakers to the hu harness? Just like they did from factory or just run everything from the amp? Thanks in advance! Its been bothering me for days!!!!

 

So its the red and white wire with the yellow stripes that i couldnt find a reference to the images on the how to guide are broken links now, any help?
