Modified Center console for single or double din raidos

I am looking to replace the audio function of my stock Boost audio system. I've upgraded all the speakers and installed a alpine pdx 5 amp, also added a 10 inch sub. The system sounds much better but you can tell the weak point is now the stock radio. I've seen the Japanese company who made a replacement center console and then also saw a similar product on a UK website. I'd like a double din Nav/DVD HU. Question 1: Has anyone had any experience with that console replacement? Question 2: It seems very expensive to source the part from japan or europe any one know of a company that would develop this product here in the states? I bet if some one made these more accessible and priced better tons of 2 gen mini owners would jump on them.

check out my carpc thread in my sig. for better touchscreen placement, i got a singe-din kit from Shokits.com, but really didn't use it as intended since I kept using the stock radio. they have an extra conversion kit to make it a true double-din.

As you state you have the Base Boost Radio (standard for both base and Hi-Fi systems) in the car note the following.

The OEM Head Unit MUST stay in the car, it is part of the CCC (Central Car Computer) and is required in the car for the car to function properly. The Japanese purchased units move part of the head unit to the secret compartment. This is a large job and reqiures special cables to connect the speedo display and the head unit.

I have not played with or ordered any of the US available kits but if they do not come with the kit then putting in a double DIN radio is out of the question as the OEM head unit must be moved to install the double DIN aftermarket radio.
