New Maps Disc

Does any one know when the newest year maps get realesed? at this point would I benifit more from waiting till the 2010 disc gets relased? if it comes out in january some time i wouldnt mind waiting i dont think. If it is later than that i dont know if i can wait.

there is a new highway i take all the time that was built last year and my 2005 disc doesnt have it so its pretty annoying.

"new" is a relative term

You should verify with Navteq (producer of the map disc) that the newer discs include the updates you need. With a new highway, they may try to include it quickly in releases, but changes to regular roads and streets can take years before they appear on the disc. Navteq puts more effort into adding previously unmapped areas than in keeping mapped areas up to date.

If the current disc already includes the new highway and there were no other major ongoing changes, I would say it isn't worth waiting for the next disc because it isn't clear that anything else will be updated for your area.

long time for updates

I've been waiting a while for the updates. Last time the Mini maps were updated was March 2008 (at least for the 2006 models and before). I called navteq a few weeks ago and they did not have a time frame when (or if) the maps would be updated. Strange. The 2009 model year is not even listed when you pick your car out....
