Nav voice at max volume & can't change...

I cannot change the volume on the Nav voice. No matter where I set it, it is at maximum volume and it scares the crap out of me every time I get a direction. The Mini is an '05 I bought used in '07 and I never tried to use the navigation until recently. My car is the non-HK system but with an aftermarket 4-channel amp. I also have Parrot Bluetooth. But I think those things are after the input from the Nav system into the head unit so I don't see how they could be creating an issue. I am not very technical so if you can help me, please provide the info in easy to understand terms. I really appreciate your help! Thanks...

Does 'no matter where I set it' mean that you went into the HU setting as well?
If you hold down the 'note' symbol, you'll see 'TON LIN', then press it again and it will say NAV - this can be set with the volume knob from -9 to +9. Mine is set at +1. Check that to start.
