Bass/Treble/Fader Settings Erased

I just got a used 2008 Cooper S. I have the owner books and followed the instructions. However every time I get back into the car the Bass/Treble and Fader reset to zero! Also none of the stations I set on FM2 stay in memory, it defaults to 97.9 on every station. It was that way when I got the car last week. Is there a secret lock in button for these settings?

I also have issues with the climate control system, I have the Premium package with auto temp. It blows about 90 degrees when set to 68! All is under warranty, but I wanted comments before going to the dealer.

There are no extra secret button presses or steps to go thru to get this to work properly. You have something wrong with the car and you need to have it fixed. It sounds as if the Radio head unit (i.e. the Central Car Computer) has something wrong with it. It does have some control over the heat as well as radio functions.

It could also be something with the key fob since it stores all those settings. IE You carry one key that has your stations, climate settings, etc and your partner carries another with theirs.

Either way, definitely a dealer issue.

I thought the settings were stored in the computer where the computer associates them to a particular fob. I have the comfort access system. They say that the comfort access fobs store no information the way the standard fobs do.

Took it to the dealer. They think it is related to the aftermarket satellite radio wiring installed by the first owner. They are removing the wires which they also found tangled with the climate control air direction flaps. They had to pull the radio as the stuff was hard wired and had connection wires sticking out behind the steering wheel.

The dealer just ordered a new radio for the car. Apparently removing the aftermarket wiring made no difference. I should get it back Thursday or Friday depending on when the radio arrives.
