Perspective View Not Available?

i just traded in my '04 530i for an '05 MCS, and i love it.

after noticing that the maps looked very outdated, i started researching firmware updates here on the forum. i updated to v32, thinking id get the 3D view, but its not there. the maps updated and thats pretty much the only difference ive noticed so far (during my ride into work today).

should i have updated to v26 first, then v32?

You have to enable the perspective mode first, IIRC. It's been so long now that I don't remember - If I find the instructions I'll reply. Something about holding the menu button sounds familiar...

Go to the settings menu from the main screen. Once you're there, hold down the MENU button for ten seconds to enter the maintenance settings. Scroll all the way to Perspective to toggle it on. After you enable the perspective view in the maintenance menu, you have to *ENABLE* it in your "Map Positioning" settings on your NAV map view.

Just a note though: Perspective *looks* cool, but isn't very useful, especially if you want to see streets that are coming up (and their names).

Either way, good luck! Some people enjoy it, I find it to be only a cosmetic toy. And, no, it doesn't matter what upgrade path you took...jumping to v.32 doesn't cause any issues.
