Good Portable GPS Unit for 02 Mini?

Hi Everyone!
I am pretty new to this forum and after reading some posts I figure this is where I need to seek advice! I have an 02 Mini (non-S). I am currently trying to find a good portable GPS unit for it. My budget is around $300. I'd like to find one with a nice size screen, good maps, fast, text to speech, and has a long battery life. My cig. charger in the front of the car does not work. It is the only thing not working electronically in the front (besides my driver side door window - which I already know the motor in the door is bad - I have already ordered the part to get it fixed).. I am pretty sure a friend split water in the cig. charger and believe it needs to be replaced. I have tried flipping the fuse to see if that would work and nothing. Do you guys knows of a good portable GPS unit for an 02 Mini. Also, needs to be rather user friendly and easy to use. Also was wondering if you guys had any idea how much or how easy it is to replace the cig. charger!? Thanks for any help! --- I don't check this board all the time.. so if you would like to email me please feel free to do so... Thank you again

Garmin 260W here

I have a garmin 260W and I like it because it actually tells you the street names by a nice female voice. It is the larger window and works fine. I don't think you will find a GPS that will work very long just using the battery. You should not have a lot of problems repairing your cigerette lighter. Try replacing the fuse instead of flipping it around.
It is problems like this why I will not allow any food, Drink, or any water inside of my car. If I go to Sonic I sit outside to eat. My Girlfriend hates it but Drinks will never see the inside of any car I will ever own.

Woot has a TomTom XL340-S 4.3” Touchscreen Portable GPS w/ Text to Speech, IQ Routes & Lane Guidance for $110 today (http://www.woot.com/). For the record, it usually sells for around $250.

If you're not familiar with Woot, the website offers one amazing deal per day, every day. That means you have to buy it today if you want the deal - and my guess is this one will sell out rather quickly, so the sooner today the better.

For the record, a friend of mine has this exact unit and really likes it. Never used it myself though.

I've had a Garmin Street Pilot c530 and a c550. Those are CRT units. The new units are flatscreen and are called NUMI, but the all have the same navigation user interface. I like the Garmin a lot. It is touch screen, very user friendy, and you can select a great English lady to announce the turns and street names.

I would get your 12 volt socket fixed.
