watch all 6 if you are considering the cleansweep...it looks like it would be a no brainer for the mini copper..after reading all the problems with the rear channel roll off or all the peo[ple that would love to sum the signal of there HIFI system
After watching all six, I wonder if the CleanSweep can handle what the MINI standard auido puts out? Would it be able to calibrate? Adding an SSI wouldn't help, the way it did with the Ford head unit, because there isn't a sub channel to add in.
Not sure why you mention the HIFI, when you can tap the X9331 connector to get the signal before (at least most of) the filtration.
I'd really like to know what the front and rear signals for the HIFI look like at the X9331 connector.

Installing a CleanSweep would be pointless in a HiFi system. The frequency cutoff takes place at the amp instead of the headunit. Replacing the amp & speakers is all that's necessary to really get the HiFi system up to par with other aftermarket systems.
The frequency cutoff in the standard system takes place in the rear speakers only, I think. The fronts should be getting the full range, but still heavily EQ'd. With both channels, the CleanSweep should be able to calibrate just fine.
I understand that the bass cutoff is at the HIFI amp. I'm just wondering whether there is some EQ going on in the head unit on the HIFI system. So, I'd be interested to see a graph of the signal at the X9331 connector.

For some reason, I haven't been differentiating between frequency cutoff and equalization. You're right in thinking there may still be internal equalization in the headunit before the frequency cutoff at the amp. If that is the case, then a processor will still be useful with the HiFi system, but only if the amp is replaced as well. I'd be interested in seeing the signal coming out of the HiFi headunit as well.
