Question on adding an aftermarket amp and the X9331

OK, so i have the regular stereo (non hifi), and i have half way upgraded the system by adding an external amplfier that powers my subwoofer. I have this connected via a LOC that i connected by pulling the speaker level signal from in front of the X9331 (female side). To make that connection i pulled away some of the speaker wire insulation and soldered my wires on from the LOC.

So far so good....but now i want to power my front speakers with an external amplifier....and i need to now do what? My thinking is that if i can pop the "male" pins 3-4-5 and 6 out of the other side of the X9331 then i can just find some female bullet connectors and snap those suckers on to the male connectors and not have to acually cut any speaker wires at the X9331.

Has anyone done this? Is there a better way aside from running wires into the doors? I do not care to do that...and even if i did i would have to cut the wires after the X9331 anyway...

Does this make any sense to anyone but me? Its been a long week...

I guess what i am asking is has anyone had any luck popping the "male" speaker wires out of the X9331?

I think i solved/answered my own question....and that brings up a suggestion...and if i can find one or make one i will post back.

There should be a molex harness that goes between the 2 sides of the x9331
with 6 inches or so of speaker wire. This would make tapping into this wire harness neat and clean...and when you are putting it back to stock you just pop out the harness and reconnect the x9331.

I wonder if you bought an oem x9331 if it would have wire included?? If so you could make your own.

You can buy all the parts to the X9331 connector. I posted the order numbers in a couple threads. I tried to make one, but didn't allow any space between the back-to-back male and female housings. When I put them together, one connection was broken, redering the entire thing fairly useless. I've managed to get it apart, but decided to just run one side to the new amp and leave the HIFI disconnected. If I have to take it in for a software update, I just have to unplug my amp and plug the HIFI back in.

In your case, buy the parts and build one set to run signal to your amp, and another to run speaker connections from your amp to the stock speaker side of the X9331 connector.
