Solved an iPod issue - First Song!

Everytime I plug in the iPod, it automatically starts to play the same song. It's not a huge problem, but kind of annoying. I fixed it this weekend!

I had an Alpine HU in my previous vehicle which automatically played the first song of the first album by the first artist in my music selection. For me, that was always "Hell's Bells" by AC/DC. It's not a bad song and a quiet intro, but I still got tired of listening to the beginning of it over and over.

In the Mini, it auto plays the first song from my song list. For me, that's "A-1 Funk" by Santana. It's not a good intro and can be kind of tough to take first thing in the morning. I was much more motivated to do something about it.

This weekend, I recorded my own song, named "A-00_Silence". It's 2 minutes of silence. Now, I get a little time after the iPod hookup to pick something to play without having to listen to the same song intro over and over.

I used Garage Band on my Mac to cut my first single! I just opened GB, picked "New project", named it something that will sort to the top of the song list in iTunes, hit record and sat there quietly for a bit and then hit stop. There is an "export to iTunes" from within GB and I was all done.

Now when I scroll through my iPod by artist, I see my own name!

Good thing you didn't add an extra two minutes and thirty three seconds!
