Where is the H/K amp?

I want to replace the H/K stereo in my 2005 convertible. I don't want to rewire the whole car and I want to get to the speaker wires at the amp connection. I also want to remove the amp and install an Alpine one to match with the Alpine HU I have. I have had both rear panels off but nothing I would call an amplifier was to be found. In the coups the amp is in the right rear body panel. I am frustrated and feel a little thick in the head not being able to find the H/K amp.

In the convertible, it's under the passenger seat.

Many thanks. I looked there for tools that ran away but I never would have thought the amp was there. Does the seat need to be removed to get to it?

Yes...just don't turn the key on while the seat is unplugged.

What happens if you do turn the key on with the seat removed?
