Can't play CD's

Hi,
I just purchased a 2004 Mini with JCW. First Mini for me and I love it!! It's as much fun to drive as my Vipers!!

I can't play the CD and the former owner can't help me out. He added the Navigation system and an iPod connection.

When I insert the disc the display does not read "TR 01" like the manual states. If a disc is already in I cannot get the display to read "TR" as I press the mode button per the manual.

Am I doing something wrong or can I not play CD's with my current setup?

Thanks for your help.

Are you having issues with regular music CDs or burned MP3 CDs? I believe that the '05 was the first year MINI that came with a head unit that plays MP3 CDs.

With regular music CD's.

When I curser through the mode button I get messages of "no magazine" and "no disc."

The manual says the disc changer is in a compartment in the back, right hand side of the car but there isn't one.

So I'm thinking it's an option that I don't have but then why those messages? And why can't I play a single disc at the console?

Guess it's off to the dealer:(.
