I'll be working to get it up and live this week. I'm not trying to hide any features on it. Its just that I couldn't get it completed in time and I wanted to get the magazine and program launched.
Some basic features....
You'll have three garage spots
Info areas for vehicle name, history, name, etc.
Sections for exterior, interior, ICE, drivetrain, suspension, wheel and tire
Ability to easily upload three pictures (with captions) per section
When viewing someone's garage you'll be able to click on any of the pictures to start a slideshow of that vehicle
As I said I hope to have everything completed and launched sometime this coming week.
Its amazing how the small thing really do make the difference.. I got new emblems from Lyle and those alone got more attention than my new Rotas...
But more of that when the Garage opens. whenever its released... *as pull my sleeve back and look at the watch.....*
p.s. Amazing work from Lyle here: (click for bigger)

And on a related note, will we be able to link to it the same way ( www.northamericanmotoring.com/deviant )
When Mark isn't "swamped" with MOTD'06 stuff.... I know I am dying for this to be released... I want to call it early.. I wanna say next week sometime.. I have a feeling...

I'm in the middle of trying to get MOTD registration launched. As soon as I get that up and going I'll be working on finishing up the garage. Some many things to do and so little sleep to get

HAH I remember this project being conceptualized!
I look forward to seeing it come to fruition. Sadly I will not have a MINI or Mini at that time.

I'm behind on getting this launched because of MOTD registration and coming down with some type of creeping crud. I'm hoping to get more time on this in the next couple of days. In the meantime here are some screen shots from my development box (plain jane vBulletin installation) to give you some idea of what things will look like:
The Manage My Garage interface that will be under User CP
Editing one the vehicles in my garage
The view from someone checking out one of my vehicles
The Lightbox presentation of images when someone checks out one of my vehicles
To be very honest I haven't had focused time to complete the remaining code. The reasons being that MOTD has been taking time as well spec-ing a new feature for the Alliance program that I think the members will really appreciate. As I've mentioned I've hired a full-time developer and he is currently working on the new features for the program. I'll still need to finish the garage myself though.
Just so everyone knows my time has also been consumed with some pressing family issues related to middle school choices for our oldest daughter. In short we weren't able to get her into the public middle school we wanted and it is going to require a move across town to resolve. Currently we are trying to get our home prepped and listed and also move forward on a house purchase. Even with 18 hour days I'm having trouble keeping up with all these activities.
Thanks for your patience while I work on all these tasks.
No I understand you busy and you have WWWAAAAYYY more crap tnan I do goin on... Since you put it that way I guess Ill have to wait.. might as well wait for a 100% badass app, than have a 75% cool app I suppose...

you have alot on your plate and I know I couldn't do it.. So ill quit buggin ya about it..

I'd like to plug for the Virtual Garage to become a priority. Many of the threads that show cars, and the associated mods, have become so long (>1000 posts) that it's almost impossible to get a good idea of who's driving what and what it currently looks like!
Anyway, I completely sympathize with being swamped by too much to do. I just wanted to ask again.
It would have been nice to see this come out before you made a change to the market place. I know you all are busy, but for those members that paid, they are not getting full use of the features they would use the most as they are "still in the works". I certainly hope you extend their memberships once you have all features active.
Market place changes before previously promised features? Bad form, IMHO.
The marketplace software was being considered before I started the Virtual Garage. Getting the garage completed is next on the list. BTW - getting the magazines out, dealing with a home purchase and home sale, moving, and transitioning the hosting of the site to their infrastructure and insuring it went smoothly have been the priorities over the last months. That said I hope to have several hours today dedicated to working just on the garage so I can get it out and make everyone happy.
