Route from Chicago to Road America?

Anyone know the "Official" MTTS route from Chicago to Road America? (I know it's a straight shot from Chicago to Road America on I-94 and 57. I was just wondering if this was the way they are going.)
Another thing... I'm heading up Saturday from Kenosha, WI along with two other MINI's. Anyone interested in meeting up and motoring up as a group let me know. We plan on leaving at about 9:00 AM or so.
Kenosha is along I-94 about 70 miles north of Chicago.
PM me if you are interested.

And how's the construction situation on 94 north of Chicago? It was pretty bad when I drive it about a month ago.

Still hosed up through Milwaukee. I heard on the radio this morning that they were opening up some more lanes. Early Saturday morning shouldn't be too bad.

Even if I was not a vendor and heading up early to setup on Sat, I would NOT be driving into the City to meet at the Zoo to then Drive North with 2 MINI's let alone 200 With the endless cones and unknown lane closures I really can not think of any Route that will not take hours and hours just to get 200 MINI to the state line. Just my local 2 cents. Speaking of cents don't forget to bring a roll of quarters for the tolls too.

Construction on the Edens basically sucks... two lanes in either direction. It opens up when you get on the spur, but then before Half Day Rd the construction zone resumes until you get just past the state line. At least they have three lanes open on the Tri-State.

I would think a local route would be best. Lake Shore Drive -> Sheridan Rd / Green Bay. Could rejoin the interstate in WI without too much trouble. Sure, it would take close to two hours just to get out of the state, but the scenery is very pretty -- you get to drive through a lot of posh suburbs...

We're not driving to Chicago at all. We're leaving here and going straight to Road America.
Leave around 9:00. Google maps shows it's about two hours. So with a break in there, we should arrive right before noon.

the official route should be posted on the MTTS site for everyone to download before the event (thats what I can tell by looking and MIA and BOS...) and I think it was mentioned as well on one of the WWR interviews with MINIUSA...

guess we'll have to wait for it to appear in the next few weeks...

Pretty sure the Milwaukee MINIs club is going to have a semi-official meetup spot to catch the caravan as it comes through. You should try to meet up with us there (check the Milwaukee regional forum...)

Nothing on the Milwaukee MINIs forum. Except for my post there.
The three of us decided that we will meet up in the Woodman's lot on HWY 50 and I-94 in Kenosha. It's on the east side I-94 and north of HWY 50. There are plenty of gas stations, car washes, and places to get food and coffee around there.
We'll be there at 9:00AM. Leaving at about 9:30.
Andy

Thanks. We'll be ahead of them. They're thinking they'll be at lamb's farm at 11:30, it's still two hours from there to RA.
We plan on being at RA around noon.

I did the Indy stop of MTTS 2 years ago and had a blast, but I regretted that I didn't do more.

This time I'm doing the whole drive up to Road America. I know we will be there several hours late and it is a crazy route with lots of traffic, but I'm also sure it will be a memorable and fun time!!

I wonder if Mini will provide police escorts like they did in the other two cities. If they do it should speed up the drive, no?

I've been hearing they are working on it (but I don't know how far they will be leading us)

My [completely uninformed] guess would be they might escort us from the Zoo onto the Drive, but we're on our own from there.

Hopefully people won't get lost in the zigzags on Sheridan.

Yep, the plan is to have Chicago Finest help get MINI's out of the Zoo and onto LSD.

Man. I want to be a part of it and photograph it. Can't do both at the same time, however.

From a local. To avoid the Tolls going from Zoo to Lambs Farm you can use this route it also takes you right past one of our local MINI Dealers if you happen to need one.

To avoid Toll going from Lambs Farm to WI try this route, with some fun local roads, http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...,0.422974&z=11
