Alright fellow motorists.
If you are taking part of the festivities tomorrow night. Give a sound off!!
I want to know how many NAM members am bringing Q-Ban café to. Get your liquid crack right here!
One sip gives you and additional 75 hp AT THE WHEEL!!!
From what I have heard about the scheduled events on WRR, there's no driving events at all. All show, and no go.

Pros: Well organized and put together. Alot of staff to help out if you need it. Lots of great activities and many fun things to do and see. My favorite was the go-karting and the Mountain Bike Stunt Show...
Cons: Everything was very spread out... They should of put everything together on one side and closer together... I know there was a lot of people there but you couldn't tell because everything was so spread out and people were spread thin everywhere so if you showed up, you thought there were only 50 people... Unless they were planning on having 10,000 people there, the set up they had made no sense.
A frisbee
A Continental Tire KeyChain with light/compass
A few magazines (Grassroots Motorsports but you can pick up Outside, Car and Driver and Road and Track copies if you want them)
A cap from National Geographic
Sunscreen
A static cling MTTS 2008 decal
Complimentary 1 year subscription to Motor Trend
MTTS Travelogue
Hammer and Coop Lightning Bolt Air freshner
Sample of Izod cologne
Comes in a reusable Mini bag (not plastic)...
OK, one more question, so what's the story food-wise? Motoringfile.com had someone from MINI USA address the issue but she wasn't very specific.
I'm guessing since all the events are spread apart, food is gonna vary by venue. But I would like to know from the Miami people what was offered.
It was a standard menu - hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, etc... Prices were reasonable $5 for a chicken sandwich, $2 for a coke... They also had cuban sandwich which may not be available up there...
I was there on sunday, got there early about 10:00 am, and left at 1:00 pm I was not impressed by the set up, should of been better organized, There were maybe 300 people at the most, but being a new mini member it was nice to be involved of a nice gathering.
btw, after we left we decided to take a ride down to Island mirada key, we had lunch at hog heaven. On the way back we met up with few mini cars leaving the MTTS show on the florida turnpike...about 10 cars, I have to say it was a pleasure riding along each other...many owners waving at each other.
we were a little disappointed. we thought there would be more events and things to do., more mini merchandise for sale, etc; although it was very nice to get together with other mini owners and the rally from bicentinnel park to homestead was nice but we felt it was not organized well we thought the police would escort us all but they didn't.

Agreed. And the goodie bag was like 99% recycled marketing junk.

I was not impressed with this rendition of MTTS. There were many highlights for sure, but the format just didn't work out as well. I hope the events are better at the remaining 3 cities.
Next time, I'll vote for the big roadtrip instead.

Put me down as having a very good time. Much more fun than MTTS 2006.
The Friday night meet/greet and movie was fun. Lots of MINIs in a beautiful setting. I also enjoyed the MINIs of Miami video that was shown before the movie. The breezes coming from the bay felt so good too. It was a nice kickoff for the weekend.
The Saturday morning drive from Miami to Homestead was one of the most fun drives I've ever done, and there were no twisties either. It was a sight to see a dozen police on motorcycles blocking all of Biscayne Blvd. People on the streets would stop in their tracks and were pointing and smiling at all the MINIs. I enjoyed that a lot.
There was a lot planned at Homestead. MINI had an autox course, go carts, rock climbing, games, parade lap on the track (great fun!), bands playing on stage, contests, caricature artists, bungee trampoline, car washes, MINI RC track, a cool bike stunt show, lots of MINIs and getting to know their owners. Meeting and talking with Rauno Aaltonen was a treat too. So there was plenty to see and do.
My goodie bag had a MTTS journal (I had fun getting my passport stamped), MTTS decal, nice postcard with the layout of the festival, free year subscription to Motor Trend, MTTS wristband, MINI frisbee, MINI carabiner, MINI mints, a sheet of MTTS tatoos, and a nicely printed schedule of events. The bag as was a nice touch. Did anyone notice the MINI on the footprint? Other freebies around the festival included a MINI can "koozies", MTTS posters, MINI chapstick and so on.
As "spyderman33" said, everything was spread out, so you didn't realize how many people were there. But on the otherhand that kept things from getting crowded.
Needless to say I had a great time. Thank you MINI!
The only thing I would see different was if there were vendors there, like alta, m7, dinan just to name a few. But even with that, it didnt seem like enough people to be worth their while. i would like to see mtts grow into something comparable to waterfest, H2o, or something similar to the vw/audi scene.
The highlight for me was taking apart the carbon dash of my mc40 so I could have it signed by Rauno
I would personally like to thank maxxboy for pointing out all the positives.
I too had a great time, the heat was the only thing that really wore on me.... It was HOTTTTTT!!!!
