**12/08/08 UPDATE** Phil Wicks will be hosting an event at Brainerd International Raceway - 278 miles/4h 41m the weekend of June 27-28th. If you can plan to attend his event and then caravan to Winona with his team for East Meets West 09 - June 29-July 3rd.
This poll is directly related to our announcement of the 2009 MINI Meet East Meets West. Please keep any discussions here on the topic of the Track Day and direct general event inquiries to the above thread.
We have a small track facility to use at the event that will work for autocross, but not a Phil Wick's track day/s.
So - knowing we'll have autocross events in Winona, we're wondering what the draw of a Phil Wick's track day would be IF:
1) It was the weekend before our event
AND
2) An average of a 5 hour drive outside of Winona.
East Meets West - Monday June 29th - Thursday July 2nd
East Meets West w/Phil Wicks - Saturday June 28th - Thursday July 2nd
2002 BRG/w MC. Sport package/sunroof. Yakima roof rack in the summer, Blizzaks in the winter. Motoring since July 2002 we've seen 120 temps, -20 temps, 5 accidents and 122,296+ miles.
"...indeed the love that the horses of the Rangers bore for their riders was so great that they were willing to face even the terror of the Door, if their masters' hearts were steady..." --- J.R.R. Tolkien
Thanks for voting.
As far as costs go, if you were doing the track day/s AND the East Meets West immediately after, yeah, the cost could be up there. But we wanted to find out if people would be interested in a track day so that we could explore the options instead of deciding for you.
If the track day happens, it would be run through Phil Wicks and possibly helped out by some promoters.
Thanks for the input - tell your friends and ask them to vote too!
