White Water Rafting

We're bringing along a few kids (young adults) and going White Water Rafting Thursday or Friday if anyone wants to tag along. Probably float the Blue River if water levels are sufficient. If not then a nice float on the Colorado.
Anyone interested?

Rafting

We may be interested if it is an easy float. Have never tried it so don't want to get in over our heads, literally.
Should be leaving OKC early on Wed. and driving non stop this year.

The Dallas group is planning a 1/2 day trip on Friday. We will be using Performance Tours, doing the Brown Canyon trip. We have a group of 10 going so we are getting the group discount. I will be calling the outfitter on Friday the 17th to setup the date, time and number going. If you want more info or want to join us let me know. Once I get the trip set up with the outfitter each person is responsible for calling the outfitter with their payment/credit card information

We will probably be doing the 10am float which means we would have to leave Copper Mt about 8am. If this would work for you you are welcome to join us. Send me a pm if you want more details.

The Blue River is an intermediate. Not quite like Brown's Canyon and I didn't want to take Kristi and the kids on anything to extreme. Also it leaves from Frisco which is close by Copper. Should be a fun trip. I like rowing but you can get in a raft that the guide sits in the middle and does all the work and just enjoy the ride.

I would be interested.

However we have two kids aged 6 and 11 that could not go on more advanced trips. Are the trips you have scheduled able to have young kids on them?

The website recommends minimum age of 7 yo and 50 lbs for both the Brown Canyon and Blue river. They do have some mild trips with a minimum age of 4 yo. Check out the mild trips here http://www.performancetours.com/index.htm

I'm not promoting one rafting company over the other but this one in Frisco has a trip planner that will help you choose the trip best for you.

Looks like probably the Colorado River is the trip best suited for smaller kids.

Thanks for the information.
I saw some age restrictions and was not sure which you were headed to.
Your kids must be older and able to go on the more adventurous trips.

They are older 18, 20, 21 but I'm not sure about more adventurous. They'd probably choose the class II III on the Colorado if they had a choice.
