2009 Colorado Conclave

Hi everyone - Just a reminder that the 2009 Colorado English Motoring Conclave is coming up September 19th and 20th. Once again it will be held in Oak Park in Arvada.

http://www.thecoloradoconclave.com

The Tour will be on Saturday, I wrote it using one of my MG-B's but test drove it last weekend in my 09 MCS and I really think you will enjoy it. With the growth of MINI's attending the event I will be making an announcement concerning the MINI's for next years event.

I hope to see you all there!

We've been close to 50

the last few years, so let's go over that this year. Maybe we can induce Chuck, David and the officers to pop for: (Sunday)
  • Coffee
  • Burritos
  • BBQ for lunch
  • A drawing for something fancy
  • Group pictures
  • Dancing Girls
  • and more!

Bump for the Conclave weekend.
The club will spring for coffee and donuts of course just as last year.
Need a volunteer to photograph and write-up an article for the newsletter on the Saturday ride since I am unable to attend.
I will bring coffee and donuts on Sunday for the Conclave.

I've seen the parking map for Sunday and we are in the same spot (north side).

I received an e-mail today from a MINI owner asking if he could participate. Somehow we need to better get the word out that we consider MINI's to be British and are welcome.

This is also an opportunity for 5280 to recruit and indoctrinate new members. (I know, I need to join )

I have not decided what car I am going to bring this year. I have whittled it down to either the TR-6 or the MINI. Normally in my 'rotation cycle' it is the TR-6's turn but that was before I got the MINI.

I would like to go to this! It would be fun to see all of the different British cars!

However, I am in Reno for the Air Races all weekend. It is a different kind of fun, and some incredible airplanes!

I'll try to do better with the photos than I did last year. A lot of the action/flying shots were a touch out of focus. Those suckers are fast! Hopefully I have learned a little since then.

Do we MINIs have an official "meet time" on Saturday and/or Sunday?

Saturday, are we parking in the same lot as last year?

Sunday there is no start or end time. What do we tell people who want to come look at all the cars Sunday?

Hello,
Chuck told me we are in the same spot as last year and you can register the day of the event, just $25 instead of $20. Our spot last year was the north end of the field, and you will be directed where to go (plus we will have the MINI5280.org banner up). This year lets all take the sidewalk

For Saturdays ride I think we should meet in the same spot as last year, the school parking lot at the corner between 8am and 8:30am, and just do what we did then. Here is what the Conclave site says.
Date: Saturday, September 19th, 2009
Logistics: 8:30 am Vehicles assemble at Oak Park
10:00 am "Ride the Rockies" tour commences
awards will be presented on Sunday

I feel a transition coming.
What Rich said is 100% spot on. Plus the club is providing all you can eat (as long as that number is 1) donuts and coffee.
Since I can not be at either day I need two volunteers to capture the moment in print for the newsletter. One for the ride and one for the show. Add some photos and we got us an article baby!
Kick some British butt and steal the show!
Go team!
Yeah MINI5280!
Rock the vote!

I'm all cheered out. Just show up and have some fun.

Great ride, great lunch, great nap on the way home (in BLU-BY U ).

Hope to see more MINIs on Sunday as there were only 5 today and 1 that showed up from SD. You can still register!

there were so many wonderfull cars there today. It was hard to decide on which ones to vote for. We had 2 winners from the club and one that was not. Congratulations to JohnJohn, and to Rudebox. they were this years third place and second place winners. It was good to see everyone who was there.

Teresa is correct JohnJohn. Unless someone knows who Greg (last name sounds like Gallon) who left early, then JohnJohn, you were next in line to win. According to the rules, you must be present to win or someone who knows who you are! So we have a ribbon for you if Greg does not come forward First place went to Anthony Cragg (a former 5280 member who is going to renew).

More later...

Rich

Sorry Teresa, Let's hope we can get a hold of Greg/Craig though.
