HPR track day with ZClub- Sept. 12 -- possible

Hi Lappers.

I'm posting this more as information and a potential for anyone in the MINI5280 group who wants to do a lapping day.

ZClub has a open day on September 12 (Saturday).

Cost is higher for non-memebers $165 for all day per Darrel.

This includes the ambulance cost for the lapping day.

I believe they are going for a 60 car limit for this event.

I am not sure I will be signing up for this lapping event, this is more a Public Service announcement for all you lappers in MINI5280.

Note: You will be working corners for a couple of sessions, so everyone can have good safe lapping.

Following is the dialog about the day I received from Darrel via the RMVR BB email system.

------------------

Event Description:

Don,

Our events are open to anyone, even mustangs ;-).

We limit our events to 50 cars, but usually average 45 cars. We probably won't turn anyone away if we exceed the limit, but probably won't go past 60. That is something our track steward will make a decision on. It will keep the track open for all run groups.

$125- members
$150- non-members
2nd driver $50 and $75

We had a deal with the miata club at our may event if they could get enough members they could get a preferred rate. But apparently a lot of them were in Dallas for the miata 2oth b-day. We only had a few show up, then of course it was raining most of the day so that put a damper on a lot of walk ups the day of.

Driver meeting is between 8 and 8:30 am, with the track going hot by 8:50. Each run group has 2- 20 minute sessions and 3- 15 minute sessions. By 5pm we are off the track. According to the HPR contract we can have the track till 6pm, so we could probably fudge the track time a little bit throughout the day.

Here is the registration form from our may event.

I don't have a schedule with me but will pick one up at our monthly meeting tomorrow night(wednesday).

If you would like to join us for our meeting, we meet at the New York Deli News on east hampden the first wednesday of every month. Most people get there by 6pm for the board meeting and the general meeting starts at 7pm.

One of our members owns a mini so I thought he may have brought it up to your club. His name is Carlos Tamya(sp?)

One more thing, we don't call it racing, it is a fun run event. No wheel to wheel and no timing. It;s an insurance thing.
