Ever been to a drive-in? How about necked with your favorite gal (and/or guy) with a shift knob in your side?
We'll here's your chance. On Saturday August 22nd it will be MINI5280 night at the drive-in movies.
The plan is this:
1. Meet at Sonic for some tasty treats 3605 E. 104th Ave., Thornton, CO 80233 (104th Ave & Colorado Blvd) at 5:00 PM. Here's a map: Sonic
Sonic has extended MINI5280 a 50% discount on all purchases for the night.
2. At 6:00 PM we will motor over to the 88 Drive-in Theater located at 8780 Rosemary Street, Commerce City, 80022. Here's a map: Drive-in

Gate opens at 6:30 PM, movie starts at dark, cost is $8/person (2 people or more in the boot are free).

We're going to miss this, as we'll be on vacation. Dang! Tip: Don't forget to do the traditional "MINI Light Show" before and after (maybe even during the intermission) the movie. Those of you with R53's know what I'm talking about.

apparently there is a Peach Festival in Lafeyette that day too....

PARKING: We park vehicles according to height; cars park together, mini vans park together and the tallest vehicles must park at the back of the theatre. We recommend car pooling.
according to the drive-ins website, does that mean we'll all be in the front row! have u called them to let them know of our impending invasion? plus, it appears that GI JOE is playing, WOOT WOOT!!!

We have contacted both Sonic (lesson learned) and the drive-in. It should be pointed out that the classics will be in the second row, the Ariel Atoms will be in the first row and we will be in the third row.
We are shooting to be there at 6:30 so we can get the good spots and our boot buddies will spend the maximum time in their hiding place.
I plan on stuffing Tina in the boot. The kids are still young enough to be free. Maybe I should let my daughter drive in while Tina and I both hide in the boot?

It would be great to take a picture like this at Sonic. This was taken on a MINIFunDrives ride in Galveston TX that I went on earlier this year. There were MINIs parked in every stall.
There should also be a new release at the Drive-In to replace Harry Potter. I will post it as soon as I know.
Fun night, just got back home. We didn't stay for HP. got thing I got pretty tired driving home to CRock.
