in regards to the Ralph Schomp service department

recently i had to have my mini towed down to ralph schomp to have it serviced. i just wanted to say that it has been the best experience i have ever had with a service department of any kind. Rob Dieterle and his technician got the mini in quick and diagnosed the problem.

on saturday i went and picked up the mini. drove it about 5 miles and it broke down again :( after calling the ralph schomp operator or receptionist and being completely ignored. and yes she was terrible, she told me to call mini roadside but there was nothing she could do about my stranded ass, hell she couldnt even transfer me to mini, where she told me there was no one left even though the dealership was packed when i had left five minutes ago.

anyway i limped the car back, kind of an interesting, scary experience. The moment rob was in and had a diagnosis he called me. at 8 in the morn. he told me they were thinking the TB was sticking open so they got that replaced, and this time his tech was going to do a thorough test drive to make sure what happened to me does not happen again. A test drive of 30 or so miles. and highway driving.

so in all i give the mini dealership staff an A++. You all are amazing. even the salesperson who i limped the car back to was super apologetic.

I have had extensive work done on my Cooper, mostly relating to broken parts, rattles, etc... Rob has been the best service advisor I've ever had. From VW, Mitsubishi, BMW, and Subaru he is by far the most informed, customer-oriented, and courteous service person I have ever met.

Honestly, if I could clone him and put him at my BMW dealer I would!

for Rob if he's on here!

navycav3, Just for the record.... I AM THE MINI RECEPTIONIST here at Schomp & I didn't talk to you. I'm sorry about whoever it was that you talked to when you called.
Robert & our Service Dept are wonderful!! Thanks for the compliment. I passed it along to Robert & his manager Justin Brown. We appreciate your business & when you call again, please ask for Shelly!

You didn't get Shelly if you called the main number. I have had some rude receptionist answer but usually it was because I didn't walk through all the compudial numbers correctly. Must have been the BMW receptionist and she was torqued at not being on the MINI side having fun.
Also, just for equal time here, I think Devin is very good too. And the other one, Jim or John is a nice guy too. Schomp rocks!
