MTTS- Official Dallas, TX Info

FOR THOSE OF YOU COMING THROUGH DALLAS, HERE'S A QUICK POST ON WHAT'S HAPPENING.

THERE ARE TWO EVENTS THIS DAY -
1) The MetroplexMINI / MINI of Dallas / Moriz MINI Welcome Car Wash Party - Between 2-5 p.m.

Ted Datri, GM with MINI of Dallas and representing both local dealerships has worked out a deal with a brand new car wash in Valley Ranch, called Kwik Kar Wash of Irving (located on I-635/LBJ freeway access road (northside) between Macarthur and Olympus) to give all MTTS participants a FREE car wash to clean off the 375 miles of dust and bug guts coming from Amarillo. To get the FREE car wash, just show your MINI wrist band (a $12.00 value). Any additional services will be the responsibility of the individual.

Ted has also secured some parking lot space and a deal on food at Razoos so that we can meet, greet and share motoring stories. Razzoo's is offering 20% off all food items for our group from 2 to 5. Again the wrist band will be the "coupon" to get this discount. Of course if Razzoo's isn't your thing, there will be plenty of places to eat in that area.

ALSO AT THE FIRST EVENT:
Aaron (agranger) will set up a 'service station' to check fluids and top up air pressure. He'll bring his detailing tools for minor scratch touch-ups, if needed.

He'll bring the compressor (pre-pressurized w/ a big tank) for filling up tires. Hopefully it will last the day.

Any volunteers to help out, would be welcomed.

Stay tuned for more details!!

2) The MINIUSA/Rolling Stone magazine/Men's Journal Texas Style Party - 8:00-

Here is the new information from MINIUSA:
The power combo of Rolling Stone magazine and Men's Journal have partnered with MINI USA to throw a Texas style party (that's BIG!). Motor on to The Gypsy Tea Room in Dallas where 900 of your closest MINI family and friends will enjoy an evening of laughs, music and more. The evening will be hosted by comedian Jay Davis. The event begins at 8:00 p.m.. Seating and parking are limited so early arrival is recommended. Comedians Jay Davis and Rusty Dooley, along with the musical entertainment of Patrick Ryan Clark, will make this a must for all MTTS participants.

DON'T FORGET: There is something special happening the you won't want to miss.

The Gypsy Tea Room is located at 2548 Elm Street, Deep Ellum, Dallas, TX.

NEW INFO:
- MINI USA has FREE Valet Parking for all MTTS participants.
- The Gypsy Tea Room event will sell out. Once the venue is full, venue security will not allow further entrance.
Please arrive early to ensure entrance before the event.

Here is the guide to Dallas. We haven't completely proof read everything, but it seems pretty solid. We plan on handing these out in Amarillo as well.

In the Razoo's parking lot, MetroplexMINIs (a local Texas club) will also set up a 'service staion'. You will be about half-way or so to Lime-Rock, so our club voluenteers will be there to:
  • Check / adjust your oil level
  • Check / adjust your coolant level
  • Check / adjust your brake fluid level
  • Check / adjust the air pressure in your tires
  • Torque the lug nuts to factory spec.
  • Clean up any scratches and look at any paintwork imperfections.
We will have an assortment of tools for your use, if needed... just look for the tan tent in the Razoo's parking lot!

Edit: A huge shout-out to Moritz MINI, who came through and supplied us with all of the "MINI-approved" oil, coolant, brake fluid and washer fluid for the event! Thanks MORITZ!

Maps, directions, etc. are above.

Thanks, Gary. I had a lot of help from a few folks on the board.

It's cool that the MotoringFile is featuring it as well:

Here's my flicker on the Dallas car wash. It's backwards, or maybe I am.
