First time on the Track...

I got invited to Nelson Ledges track yesterday afternoon by a friend who had the track rented for the day. What an awesome experience. The MINI performed well and I was lucky enough to have an ex-race driver in the car with me during my 3 laps. If you get a chance, I highly recommend getting out on a track. Even during my first lap at slow (relativly) speed it was a real rush.

FYI - I did get some information that might be of some use for a future club event as well. It costs ~2500 to rent the track for a day plus ~500 to have an ambulance on site.

Some clubbies and I swung by Nelson's about a year ago - it wasn't bad... but for around the same price we can get BeaveRun, which is a much better maintained track - and it has racing fuel.

Let's get this Beaverun group together. $150 for a day at the track is a lot funner, safer and cheaper than a speeding ticket anyday

Beaverun would be a great time. I'm in and I'll throw out some numbers for people to think about. If we get 25 cars it's $100 a car if we have 20 cars it's $125 a car. Maybe we could contact the lovely Juli at Classic and turn this in to a Classic and club event. Any money Classic would put up would make the per car price even less. There was an ad in the Plain Dealer today that Classic was the #1 dealer in there region in customer satisfaction. We could make this celebration run. The worst they can do is say no.

She's mentioned to me before about an interest in renting a track for us, but I dunno if the offer still stands or not. I'll have to get ahold of her on that.
