Come Join Us On The MINIs Great Lakes Crossing II

Last Year Michigan MINI Motor Club held the first ever Great Lakes Crossing. The event started out as a crossing of Lake Michigan from Muskegon MI to Milwaukee WI and clockwise around Lake Michigan, touring the country side and taking in the wonderful fall colors

After the initial concept was discussed it was decided to make this event a fund raiser for the Make A Wish foundation, MINI and Mini owners came from Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Ontario Canada and Tennessee for the trip. A total of 32 cars crossed Lake Michigan gathering others on the way. All in all a grand total of $10,600 was raised for Make A Wish, and a great deal of new friends made too.

Therefore this year we are doing it again, only this time the official start of the event will be on Friday 14th Sept, but a caravan will be leaving the Metropolitan Detroit Area Thursday morning, crossing into Canada and gathering more Miniacs on the way. Staying the first night in Tobermorey Ontario before crossing a part of Lake Huron on what the locals call "THE BIG CANOE" M.S. Chi-Cheemaun http://www.ontarioferries.com/chi/english/index.html the next day the official start of this event. Onto Sault Ste Marie MI, for night 2 finally finishing in Traverse City.

Although part of this event is to raise money for Make A Wish, the main focus is to have fun driving our cars with like minded people.

Fund Raising or donations is not compulsory but it is suggested.

More information can and discussion be found here http://www.michiganmini.org/forum/in...p?topic=1199.0 or at www.miniglc.info

If you have the time and want to have some fun, come join us. We look forward to having you along.

Phil. (aka Xanda)
