Mini By The Sea? - technician?

Awhile back when our Mini was parked in town someone left a business card on the windshield - "Mini By The Sea".

It says "Certified Master Mini Technician Specializing in all Mini Services - Chase Life T.L.P."

Has anyone hear ever heard of them/him?

The card says "Shore Area" but the area code listed is "267" which comes up as Willow Grove, PA. Not quite what I'd call the Shore.

Anyone know anything about Mini By the Sea?

Hummm... It is possible he is a tech for MINI of the Main Line
130 Montgomery Ave, Bala Cynwyd PA. Only 14 miles from Willow grove PA. Alot of people in PA have summer shore homes also, so maybe he's a weekend Shore to Please mechanic?
I would call him/them to see if they worked for mini at one time... and ask for past mini owners that could vouge for his work.
Good luck

Mini By The Sea

Never heard of them. Do you have a classic Mini or a new MINI (I noticed you moved down from Canada and there are lots of classics there)? If you need a classic repair shop, check out Pete Cosmides at Motorcar Garage. I known Pete for years and he is a class act. Tell him Debbie Franks referred you. Here's his website: http://www.motorcar-garage.com. Otherwise, find the nearest MINI dealer to you.

I also am not familiar with the shop that you are trying to get info on, however if you are looking for user input regarding local shops that specialize in Mini maintenance, I and several of the local Mini owners use Dave at Autobahn Automotive right off route 9 in Lakewood.

I see in your signature that you are a Red Bank resident. I was born and lived in Middletown, NJ until I got married. I lived just a couple of miles north of the Red Bank Bridge in the "Fairview" section of Middletown. My mother was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and like the previous poster mentioned, Canada is a virtual Classic Mini "parking lot"...but I'm sure you are aware of that. As previously mentioned, which model Mini are you driving?

Our Mini is an '06 MCSa. We aren't really having an issue with it... just that we seem to have developed a small (oil?) leak. If the car is left for sometime in one place, the drip will develop to a spot about 3-4" in diameter. I've had the car up on a lift while my local guys were installing a new set of tires and we didn't see anything blatantly obvious,... so I was considering having someone 'local' look at it instead of driving to our Mini dealer (Morristown). Besides that, the car was up at Morristown not too long ago and I asked them to check on the leak (while they were doing the 25K service) and they reported no issue.

Maybe they were just waiting for the 3yr warranty to run out? ; )

I called the Mini By The Sea phone number and spoke with a guy named Devo. He works from his house or will travel to you. I was looking for more of a shop with a lift, etc... although still might give Mini By The Sea a try. We'll see...

I have lived in "Red Bank" my whole life, but my wife is from Montreal and lives down here now. I grew up right across the highway (35) from where you lived in Fairview and had some good friends over there. I lived in River Plaza at that time.

Ed aka Liquid Yellow is correct that Dave at NJ Autobahn is great. Dave is fair, personable, and treats your car like his own...

As has been said many times before..."It's a small world". My mom lived in "Shadow Lake Village" for several years before she moved in with my wife and I. Many of my classmates were from the River Plaza section of Middletown Twp. I would venture a guess that I may date you by a few years as I graduated MTHS in 1957 (www.mths1957.com). My graduating class was the last class to graduate from Leonardo, NJ before they moved the HS to Tindall Rd. and then later created MTHS North & South. If you have a chance you may consider joining in on some of the events that the local Mini owners have scheduled in the area. They are a enjoyable group and I'm sure that both you and your wife would enjoy the events as my wife and I have. Check out http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...e-n-eat-4.html that has been hosted by "Frantic Freddy" in the local area and if you're not against a little drive up into North Jersey you might consider some of the events hosted by Peg (MOTE). We have gone on some of her wine runs up into NY State and they were a complete blast...good people, good "twisty runs" (which Minis love) and good wine.

Look forward to meeting with you and your wife in the future if you show up at any of these events.
