NEMINI user "Jersey Girl" was planning a "Hawks Nest Run" however as you all know NEMINI's host was hacked and so now I don't know when and where this is.
Apparently "Jersey Girl" doesn't post on here so I can't even PM her about it.
Does anyone know the details of this? Paul Graz perhaps? I would like to go to this.
Thanks in advance.

Steve - the Hawk's Nest run is Saturday, Oct 10. Meeting point is off of I-80 in the Poconos and the end point is Port Jervis, NY (Riverside Creamery for ice cream). Driver's meeting is at 10:45am with the run starting at 11 - so plan on getting there before.

So Jim...saw your posts over on the Jackson Meet forum regarding meeting up somewhere, sometime for the hawks nest run. Has anything developed on that suggestion you made?

This was really a great run last year with about 35 or so cars if i remember correct.

I want to go but I don't know where to go. I don't have a facebook account (or want one again) so I can't see the page.
Anyone know the address of the meet point for my GPS?
Steve we will get together on this as I think Tony,Sean Ed and Dorothy also may want to meet up and head out there together, Maybe we can meet in Rockaway at the mall that morning around 830 or so?

That looks to be it, basically the Rockaway mall is directly off Rte 80 so it should be pretty easy for us to meet up

OK Jim, I'll keep my eyes on this thread to watch for any changes that may arise. As we get closer to the run day we will need a meet time, but plenty of time to work that issue. Do you have the final meeting place for the run that I can program into my GPS?

I would appreciate it if someone would the post the details of this event on this thread. I would be interested in attending but I don't have facebook to see the information. I don't want a facebook account and I am sure there are others that may feel the same way. Thanks.

Date:Saturday, October 10, 2009
Time:10:00am - 2:00pm
Location:Scotrun Diner
Street:Route 611 at the corner of the exit ramp of Exit 298 off I-80
City/Town:Scotrun, PA
Description
Join us for a spirited drive through the Poconos. We'll start in Scotrun, PA and enjoy some nice twisty roads up to the NY border. We'll cap off the run with a drive on NY Rt. 97's famous "Hawk's Nest" and end the run in Port Jervis, NY at Riverside Creamery for some of their wonderful deep fried ice cream (or one of their other ice cream masterpieces).
What to bring:
1. Your MINI
2. Full tank of gas (gas station on route 611, near starting point)
3. Your camera (could be in for some beautiful fall colors)
4. Two-way radio (FRS)
Looks like a few of us will be meeting up in Rockaway NJ right off RT80 at the Rockaway mall, then we will head out to PA for the Hawk run

Hey Jim...Do you have a FRS walkie talkie? If yes, what channel do you normally monitor when you go on these runs. I know that Peggy (MOTE) used Channel 7 for her wine run, but I don't know if that is a common channel to use. If the Mall parking lot is large it could come in handy!
We normally always use Channel 7 and i will have mine with me, I will check the mall out and find a good spot for all of us to meet tat way no one gets lost

Thanks for the return Jim. I was pretty sure that you had mentioned to me at the winery that you also had radios. That's great, we should have no problem meeting up...L8R

GPS directions (an address) to the out of state meet point would be good incase we get lost.
I don't need directions to the Rockaway mall although some who don't shop here may. An idea of what store we are parking near would be good. Sears in the front has a lot of room away from everything.

Directions according to Google:
301 Mount Hope Ave # 1900
Rockaway, NJ 07866-2167
Asside from being a meeting point this is a good mall. The FYE there has the largest heavy metal selection I've ever seen at an FYE.
I'm good on the radio front and I'll have extra batteries if anyone needs them.
Steve , Sears sounds like a good meeting point very easy to find and right off the main road, SO that is were we all will meet, We should get there by 8 Am and leave by 830 as that will give us some flex time

The location is a bit rural and not GPS friendly . . . my TomTom couldn't locate it - but it's literally at the end of the Exit 298 ramp off I-80 WEST - can't get lost

Not sure of your location, but a few of us will be meeting up in Rockaway NJ at the mall right off Rte 80, you are welcome to join us if you like
