Shoot, i will be away for business this week. $^%&#&&%

Ohh well, I'll be passing it everyday on my drive to and from work so I'll have plenty of times to stop.

Hopefully we can all plan a meet sometime soon.
I'm new to my cooper, had it about 3 weeks.
Just has some black-out mods (headlight rings, beltline, side repeaters, gas cap, emblems) and tint. (20%)

still need to do my grill and door handles.

tails are also tinted with laminx (spelling?) vinyl.

I'd love to see how some lowered cars ride and how great the 17% pulley is.

We've already discussed this on NEMINI - having recently treked down to the Sonic in Waretown.

Opening day at the Howell Sonic will be chaos I'm sure! But there's a fairly big parking lot right next door for the little strip mall, so we could always just park there and walk over...

Paul,
you might just consider parking at your house and walking to Sonic!

if you can walk there, it's scary how close we all live to each other.

I've walked home from Target - further than where the Sonic is - but it wasn't because I wanted to... (long story...)

Anyhow, Sonic was operating tonight! But they had the entrances blocked with signs that said "Invitation only" - this is good - it means they are doing their last minute "trial run" to work the bugs out.

I'm sure they are all set for opening on Tuesday! I think I need to work from home that day...

They didn't open for breakfast today - but I'll swing by in an hour or so for lunch. If they aren't open today, I can hit the new Five Guys on my way home...

Ha! Pretty funny - we did the same thing. Nancy and I were both able to work from home today, so we waited until around 3pm - thinking "No one eats lunch at 3pm, and it's too early for dinner" - HA! There were easily 20 cars waiting for a drive-in bay, and almost as many driving to hit the drive-up window. Sonic isn't going anywhere, so we went to Five Guys instead...

I think we could have a meet at the Howell Sonic in about 6 months...

i pulled in this morning, around 11am.

it was a bit crowded, but i could easily pull in from the rt 9 entrance.
the cop standing there started screaming and cursing at me for pulling in there. NO idea why. its not blocked off, the other guy before me did it with no problem... so...
i replied in the same fashion and drove away.

they haven't showed up at my house yet, so i assume nothing will happen.

crazy.

Why? Because you cut the line. Until things calm down the entrance is via the shopping plaza so that they can have a line without it backing up onto rt 9.

They can't block off that entrance because they want people to exit that way - and it's also an entrance to the plaze for those people who aren't interested in Sonic.

I wasn't turning into the Sonic yet, I was planning to park in the plaza first.

He stopped me as i was past the entrance for the sonic anyway. I was further along, near the tables.
If i had turned into the plaza, then into sonic- then I'd understand.

The guy in front of me actually turned right into the Sonic.

Edit: I should have clarified: I didn't cut the line. I wasn't speeding. My music wasn't loud. I didn't almost run anyone over. I did NOTHING wrong.

Jbell, cops in NJ are generally big effin douches, excuse my french, but don't sweat it.. Cops are very judgmental and assuming around here..
PS I also went last Tues... line too long, turned around and went to Johnny Rockets. Just as good if not better in some aspects.

ok, sorry - I misunderstood what you typed in originally...

Try to understand, the Howell cops are there trying to keeping things from getting nuts. They have to put up with a lot of stupid people, so after a while they get a little impatient and cranky.

Until things calm down, it'll be best to enter from New Friendship road...

Work sucked yesterday, and I never got a lunchbreak - so I took a detour coming home and hit the Sonic in Mt Holly, or technically, Hainesport I guess. I'm not sure how long they've been open, but it wasn't too busy there. Got in and out in about 10 min...

ill post this here since i got no replies otherwise...

i posted this in the nj GTG thread... but figured i'd double up.

feeling generous...

hey hey.
i just bought a bunch of the fabric to do this:

I'm wondering if anyone else is interested in getting together today (July 3rd) around 3:30-4:00 to do this.

I know it's short notice so... If you bring 2 cans of the GOOD 3M spray for when we do it - i'll hook you up with enough cf fabric to do your dash...

so yeah- who's in.

(i posted this on nam also, so if a few people reply... please keep in mind- i only have so much fabric. so... $20 for what's needed to do your dash sound fair?)

Don't know when the grand opening was of the Sonic on
Rte. 46 in Totowa but tried to go today with my gf on our way back from the July 4th weekend. Much to our surprise, Cops actually had the entrance BLOCKED OFF!!! As in...no more cars allowed on the line!!! Will try again eventually, but not for a while. I have to try SONIC!!! NJ needs more of them apparently.

Don't worry - there are more coming. I read an article that the group that bought the franchise that covers most of NJ plans to hvae about a dozen or so in each county by the time they are done...

Nancy and I finally got over to the Howell Sonic - we went around 8pm on the 4th - so while everyone else left town to go find fireworks, we strolled in with no waiting.

You can tell they are still training. They have to learn that when someone orders a salad, they might want a fork for that. And maybe even dressing. But overall, it was a good experience...

Need to go back to try their breakfast one day this week...

Made it to the new Sonic in Howell tonight. Last minute pit stop on the way home. Everyone in the car pool was happy to stop. Drive-in was about a 10 minute wait, but there was no line at the walk-up.

And like Paul said, they are still in training. I got my chicken sandwich with two bottoms of the roll and I asked for no mayo and got it anyway. It was still good.
