had the same thing happened once when it was zero degrees. But haven't had the problem reoccur on cold days. Do they say what usually causes it?
It happened to me on January 16 when the temperature high was 12 degrees. I drove to work and every thing was fine but that evening when I was going home the engine light went on. There was no power and I could not go over 25 MPH. I shut the car off and restarted it and it was like the problem never happened. That was the only time for me. There seems to be no cure so I have not taken the car to the dealership. I just got my Mini S in December so I am a little on guard but again it has not done it again.
I have an 04 MCS, the car sits in the airport everynight of the week, I have yet to have any noise and or problem starting it in the morning when I leave to come home
I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to clarify some things. First of all this only affects the R56 (2007+) Cooper S models with manual transmission. It also affects the Clubman S and possibly the new convertible S with manual trans.
