I have been organizing a small group of Mini enthusiasts to meet for a very informal breakfast once a month - this month it is in Torrance at a very cool place called Ricky & Ronnie‘s. It’s a good mix of classic and new Minis, but you don’t have to be a MOALA member - or even have a Mini/MINI to come along. Everybody is welcome.
If you have never been to Ricky & Ronnie's, it is a 1950s style diner located on a fenced and gated secure parking lot which was purpose built for car shows and events. We have a section of the parking lot reserved for our Mini group, so we can all park together. The food is excellent, as is the automotive-related atmosphere.
For those up to it, we will probably have a cruise to wherever we end up afterward - Ports-o Call, Palos Verdes, whatever. Bring ideas! Hope to see some of you there!
Sunday morning at 0900? I think I might be able to make it...There was also a PV run just last weekend, courtesy of Johnny's Auto in San Pedro. Great BBQ, and a fun run. Not that I'm complaining.. When I'm home, I usually do PV Drive East, PV Drive West, and PV Drive North at least two or three times a week. They are really short runs, and often have slower tarffic, but the views are great (except during fog), and parts of them are a ball, even at low speeds.
Ricky and Ronnie's is a nice, clean, secure area to gawk at nice cars, and the food is pretty good. (I think we overloaded them at the SCMM run - we had over 40 MINI's!)
