Midlands 9/25 Update !!!

Please Note - the order of the three stops on the 25th has been reversed !

We will now start out at Fryar's Topiaries, then off to lunch in McBee and then head for the Happy House on Butterfly Hill after lunch.

Other than that, the event is basically still the same.

Also, there seems to have been some confusion about this being just for club members. That is not the case....all are welcome to come play.

Mick

Quoted from Mick's email message to me:

We are on, and it looks like hurricane season is taking the weekend
off....all indicators are sunny and blue!

Jamie Tingen, owner of Happy House on Butterfly Hill in Hartsville,
has asked me to switch the order so that we come visit her in the
afternoon. She is driving up from Tampa to meet with us!

I put an update to this effect in the forums, via someone else's
computer, just not sure how many people saw it. Please help spread
the word about the change. Thanks.

SO, our first stop is now Fryar's Topiaries in Bishopville. It is
located a little less than a mile east of I-20 on the US 15 exit
which is number 116. Going east from 20, look for small versions of
Pearl Fryar's topiaries, at the intersection of Broad Acres Road.
Actual address is 145 Broad Acres Road, Bishopville 29010. More
questions, check www.fryarstopiaries.com

The plan is to gather the MINIs at Fryar's between 10 and
10:30.....hang out there until 11 or 11:30, then head for McBee to
McLeod Farms. Have lunch at McLeod's, check out the museum (some fun
old cars....no MINIs unfortunately) then head to Hartsville around
1:00.

From Fryar's, suggested route to McBee is 341 to 1 (where it meets
Bethune) to McBee (where it meets151). Taking this route, you would
turn right on 151, then McLeods is a ways out on the left. If you are
coming a different route, check with them 843-335-8335 or
http://www.mcleodfarms.com/main.html

From McBee to the Happy House in Hartsville, suggested route is 151
(toward Florence) to BR 151 to Hartsville. This is no more than 30
minutes from McBee (even doing the speed limit) they tell me.

Heading from McBee, on 151 toward 20, look for a Shell station and
Subway at a stop light. Turn right at that light, go through
Kelleytown, past the Baptist Church.....Hillcrest Road is the first
paved road on the right after that church.

Approximately 2/10 ths of a mile on Hillcrest, there should be an
opening, just before the first house on the left. The Happy House on
Butterfly Hill is about 1200 feet from the paved road. I have been
told that if we somehow miss Hillcrest road, shortly after that we
will see the Ashland Mini Mart.....whoops! Go back. If totally lost
at this point, you might be eligible for a prize, should we decide to
offer one for the MINI that had the most trouble getting here! Also,
the Mini Mart phone is 332-3407...

...Please help spread the word, and come out for any or all of
this day. Everyone is welcome.....come on your own terms. Join us
for all three stops, just lunch, or any combination that fits your
reality.
