For the last several months, I've been having a sort of nagging problem with a "popping" or "chirping" sound that occured mostly during clutching or whenever I accelerated or decelerated rapidly....(as if THAT ever happens while motoring in a MINI )! So I took "Tillman" in to Hendrick's for some TLC and some trouble shooting to try to determine the source of the noise. After several road tests and several hours on the lift, Chris (MINI Tech., "Extraordinaire" ) actually found the source of the "mysterious chirp"....a loose axle nut which allowed the axle to move juuuust enough to make contact with "something or other" underneath the car! WHOO-HOOOO!!!! PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! And it gets better....cost of flanged hex nut and several hours of labor....ZERO DOLLARS (covered under warranty). Great relationship created between Hendrick MINI Service Dept. and MINI owner...PRICELESS!!!!
