I'm planning on coming but the unthinkable has happened. I was in line to get my car washed at my regular place on Saturday (I have an unlimited car wash pass) when the driver of a huge Ram truck decided to back up without looking in his rear view mirror...and wham....right into my Mini!!! Oh the pain!!! So now I'm waiting to schedule repairs. They said they could fix my hood...with filler...but I said no...I want a new one...so here's hoping the insurance will cover all this....Doesn't look like a whole lot but I just know it's going to be thousands. I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

The %%%%%%%s, they killed Kenny! Sorry to hear about that.
When Ann's hood got crunched 3 days after she got the car it ran about $1,200 for a new one. The hood alone was around $425.

I am sorry to hear about that, Sharon, I know it must have broken your heart. I know that I hated it when I was rear ended down in Charleston. Please come down anyway, we'd love to see you down here anyway!

Sharon, what does the guy look like after the incident? Knots on his head?? I know you redheads have hot temper and I would have been exploding, and I don't even have any hair. Make um buy a new hood, if they say they want just say see ya in court and that usually turns the argement the other way. My insurance wanted to just have some glass dealer install my windshield but after sticking to my guns got the dealership to do it. I was in for oil change the other day and gentleman brought his mini in that some glass company put in new windshield, his side panel blew off going down the road. Good luck and see ya soon. You still going to Mickey & Minis?

I'm fine. But right after he hit me I said S***! twice and carried on about my baby being hit and how long it would take to fix it. Then I calmed down....the guy who hit me remembered me from the Antique Car Club of Hendersonville. I ended up chatting with him waiting for the police report and showing him pictures of our Minis from Mini Boo and St Patrick's Day (I'm surprised he didn't comment on the pic of Luke with the wig). Fletcher Motors called me today and the parts (hood, grill, and scoop) have already been ordered. I've already decided I'll be in the show one way or the other. If it's not repaired yet....I'll just dress it up with a BIG bandaid. Josh is entering his Harley and maybe his GTO...so I'll definitely be there. Thanks for all the concern. The fact that my Mini is still driveable eases the pain a bit....and now I can get the damaged driving light replaced on State Farm's dime.

Anyone else from Charlotte going down? Looking for someone to ride and gluide with. I have a tendency to have people stop me and talk to me when driving by myself.

No Minis but the ones that did were certainly deserving. The model A won best of show and had some cool bikes, etc/ a Cool BMW also won. Had a great time even tho it was rather warm. Had free hot dogs, drinks, and watermelon. Glad I got to hang with the ruffcat and crew. Well its off to Colorado. Hopefully it will be a litttle cooler.

Glad you could come down and join us, Luke and Sharon, it was great seeing both of you again! It was fun, inspite of the heat!
