I don't know anything personally about this event. But it's a good location, and July 5th is a sunday night so there'll probably be a good turnout.
Can't make July but it's close by, maybe I'll try the August one.
I always thought a good place for a MINI E meet would be Cisco Burger in Long Beach, it's the only solar powered burger joint I know and the food is really good. www.ciscoburger.com
I'll be on vacation starting tomorrow but anytime after July 12 would work for me. I expect breakfast or lunch on the weekend would be best for most people.
I might be interested in going too even though it is too far to bring my Mini E. It would be great to meet others in the program, plus my daughter starts at Cal State Long Beach this fall so I should get familiar with the area.
Sounds great Stan! Although Cisco Burger is definitely in an industrial part of town. It is owned by Jesse James and is right next to West Coast Choppers- at the 710 and Anaheim Blvd. The last time I was there, Jesse was having lunch- all the workers and other customers acted like he was invisible as he snuck behind the counter, barely mumbled an order for a salad to the cook, made his own coffee and sat down. Seemed very driven, just like on TV.
I had lunch today at Cisco Burger, but not with the Mini E. I had made the trip down with my daughter so she could pick up her textbooks at CSULB before classes start next week.
Anyway, Jesse James came in while we were eating (good food too!) and like GoDucks said, he was just a regular guy. I wanted to get his picture with my daughter but I didn't want to bother him while he was eating, so I got a picture of my burger instead:
So is anyone still up for a Mini E meeting at Cisco's sometime in the near future?
edit - never mind, I just saw the facebook post about the possible meetup in early September.
