Man you are right about that! What started out as "just" the JCW Challange set has grown into what my wife likes to call, "that Thing". As in, when are you going to move that thing? One of these days I'll have a room just for RC Motoring! Here is the latest track my g-son and I built, long straight aways and tight turns, running dual power supplies. BTW, the red IJ one even with an extra magnet, will still bounce off the wall when it departs the track.

Have you got the 2 earlier versions that Scalextric put out?

I'll be watching out for those 2 new ones! I have only seen the black Broad Oak one around here. Running about $42 to $47 depending one the shop

The only place I had seen it prior to my purchase and after my purchase is eBay. The guy also has a 1:32 or 1:24th scale that has a larger production run but was selling for about the same price as the 1:18th scale.

I can't say on this public forum what I paid for it, too many people know my wife and how to get in touch with her, but I will say it was less then what the dealer charges for theirs.

Now that's cool. No not the MINIs (although they're nice too), the fact that your GF buys you MINIs, stages them (nice job, BTW), will take a picture and email it to you! She's a keeper

I don't have the Austin Powers one yet, haven't seen it in any of the local places. One day.........

LOL I had "that thing" on my dining room floor while waiting for a dining table. My wife was pretty tolerant considering I was "bonding" with my 5 year old boy

I have some catch up to do with the JCW Scalextrics. Prior to my Mini arriving, I was into some "moderate" slot car collection and accumulated somewhere around 40 to 50 1/32 scale Flys, Scalextric, Ninco, Monograms, etc. Now every dime is going to my Msfit

I found the combo pack with a BRG(sort of)/W New MINI and a Red/W classic.

Zoinks! I'd rather get something for the MINI for that kind of cash.

Thanks...they are also on eBay. ~$63 buy it now - plus shipping from the UK. Estimated shipping it shows 20-25 pounds so even that drives it up to around $100!

Ah Bobbie, I don't have a JL LY/B with stripes! You might have them all

I have a JL LY/B, but it doesn't have any stripes:

I do have a Matchbox LY/B with stripes: It's the Hero City #65

If you're sure yours is a JL and has stripes can you send one my way also?

Have a good day everyone, off to work!

Your Car Is The Star

I started this thread on the board but it sort-of slipped through the cracks. This is a much more appropriate place to post it.

I'm a huge Johnny Lightning fan! They've had an ongoing contest called "Your Car Is The Star" where you send in pics of your car (assuming it's one of their existing dies) and if they choose you, your car can be made into a 1:64 scale collectible car.

Their existing die list does include the S, but I know for a fact that they also produce a regular MC (since I think I own every Johnny Lightning MINI Cooper). Sorry cabrio owners, there isn't one for you.

I've sent in pics of Molly, and you should do the same. There is nothing to lose, and wouldn't it be cool to win and have a miniature version of your ride produced? And if you win, you get a case (12) of your car.

BTW, Bobbie, you've got me real curious about that LY/B Johnny Lightning with the black stripes. If you have pics and can't post them, please email me one. I believe you have my email.

Hello, Would you send me or post a list of all the Johnny Lightning cars you have? I'm updating the list mentioned before and I doubt I have them all.

While we're discussing Liquid Yellows, here is one I have which I haven't seen very often. It's a Road & Track die-cast made by Motormax. I think it's from Canada:

Hey James,

The only place I have seen that brand of model is at the "Big Lots" stores. I haven't been able to find the MINI one, but they have all the others

For those that don't know Big Lots is a closeout type chain store down here in the SE.

Cool find, nice decals!
