Well, it looks like this is a worldwide release. I've seen 3 of them listed on eBay from US based sellers, so be on the lookout in your local stores. It's old style in yellow with a CB roof.

There are at least 6 on them listed on eBay that end in the next 18 hours. Cheapest one is sitting at $22.50

Looks like I'll be searching the stores and flea markets for this one also.......

I assumed you meant Checker Board when you wrote this.

It looks like it has a different pattern:

I noticed that also and had meant to come back and correct it, oh well too late now

Strange design for a car roof, looks almost like euro merge markings on the road, and excactly like Chevrons used on runways to indicate that the surface is unuseable.

This of course means that I will have to get one to go with the other aviation related MINI Diecast I have.

BTW, one just hit ebay with a buy it now of $59.99 :impatient

CB= Chevron Bars

Actually I'm glad that they're a different pattern. I hate when they come too close to older version like:

It just gets too confusing.

ALSO,I'm even noticing a difference in quality in the HW 140 depending on where it was made. I'll take some pics later.

Okay, after a closer look, it's the short card versions that are made in Malaysia and the tall card versions are made in Thailand.

The most noticeable difference is in the front grill:

Ah, I thought for a moment you had figured out the K-Mart connection. Did you find the short card at a Target by chance? They seem to be the only store that carries them around here.

No K-Marts around here anymore.

Both short and tall versions were purchased at Wal-Mart. Not the same store, however.

I went to the Rolex Vintage Car show on Sunday and they had booths full of vendors selling MINI diecast. I picked up a couple of them.

1. 1/72 Yat Ming electric blue/white MCS

2. 1/64 Siku CR Convertible

3. 1/72 Schuco Electric Blue w/Scottish Flag

was looking for stuff I knew I would never find around here normally and they had quite a selection.

That's a mighty fine Porsche. BTW, thanks for showing me another color to hunt for.

Found some new ones!

I had seen these on eBay once or twice before, but never in the stores, until tonight!

New toy line Urban Metal found at both the K-Marts here in town, so maybe they're at your stores too.

There is also a new 1:6th scale RC Cooper at T-R-U, it's the Fastlane brand and is a redish purple with ghost flames, chrome spinner style wheels and gullwing doors, black aero grille, with the chrome line bumpers, sorry no pictures. $79.99 and no I didn't pick one up.

Mmm some really nice models in here

Damn I'm starting to get jealous

Don't have that many, like you guys. Mostly PS/B Coopers like mine and the special ones like the FIAA and the Follow Me in 1:43 (2x)
Got also a New MINI from Schuco with the Belgian flag on it

But I thought I'd show you my latest acquisition.

BTW: this picture is taken at a friend - who's a bigger MINI collector then me (if you look at the back)

Smokey - a big thanks for the tip on the Urban Metal MINIs. I motored over to our local K-Mart after work - haven't been in that store in probably 6 months. And YES!! There they were - 2 of them - with a big sign that said "Donna, we've been waiting for you". They are now tucked away into the collection...

Well I think I'll keep mine, but I'll have a look around for any.

I found this one at Mini in the Park this year. The guy only had 3 pieces of them and those were sold rather quickly hehe

I've seen it on Ebay also about 2 or 3 weeks ago.

What scale is that stretch MINI? That thing is awesome!

I checked with KMart.com. No more stores near Dallas, Texas.
