Who's going to this? Is it a good time? It seems it would be but just wanted to ask around. i've heard about "bad" track days that were more like high(er) speed parades and kind of wastes of time. i assume this isn't that! I've done an amg track event but never a mini one.
If you didn't catch my last post I'm in the process of purchasing a 08 MCS from my father in law...ie i have it and haven't sold my existing car yet. (anyone for a 02 c230?) So i got the email about the track day and am planning on getting a friend along and going to new castle on the 6th!

You should head over to the www.minicci.org website to discuss this for more feedback, but I can tell you it's a great time although it's not meant to be a true "track day". It's just an opportunity to try the cars out in a more controlled situation. Just remember to RSVP if you are going. They won't let you just show up and drive.

If you wish to drive your car on the track, you need to be a MINICCI member and sign up for this event by emailing me your first and last name along with your membership number at events@minicci.org
Otherwise if you were told about the event by D & R Mini, you can drive their cars around the track.
If you wish to join MINICCI, you can go to our website, www.minicci.org and download an application and mail it in. It will need to be done right away to get in in time.
It is pretty informal and very fun. Run a few laps, come back in to cool off, then get back in line. They keep a limited amount of cars on the track and space them out so they have room to play. Last time I caught up to somebody a couple times and had to slow down.
The dealership usually brings a variety of cars to the event. I know they had at least one JCW last time.
You don't need better tires or brakes to run. The stock car is more than capable of handling this size of track (it is a kart track after all). The first two times I was there I had my stock brakes and all-season run flats and had a great time.
