Thanks Way Motor Works!

Just wanted to post a quick thank you to Waylen for helping out my sick MINI stranded a 1000 miles from home. I drove in to Indy for thanksgiving last week from Montreal. The car felt constipated the entire way down barely getting 200 miles out of a tank. Took it into the local dealer (dreyer & reinbold) as soon as I arrived and they spent the next couple of days stumped with the problem. With no luck from dreyer I called my dealer in Montreal where a buddy is the service manager and had him talk on the phone with the tech. The master tech in montreal was able to figure out the problem that there was something blocked in the cat. Low and behold once they pulled the cat off they found the restriction but the only solution to them was to replace the entire manifold which they couldn't get for a week. My dealer in Montreal suggested just to do a temporary fix to get me home but dreyer said they are not authorized to do this. Here I am stuck in Indy so I gave Waylen a call, he said swing by and pick up the manifold that was sitting in his garage that I could borrow to get me home. While there I couldn't resist the Miltek that was there as well and a few days later I was on my way home. Thank god that Invidia rattle can is off my car.

Dreyer was extremely unhelpful in assisting me to get me home. After I sourced the part they still wanted me to pay for the labor. I was pretty shocked at their lack of support especially since myself and my parents have purchased 4 cars from them over the years. In fact my father was picking up his new 3 series coupe last friday.

Thanks to Waylen for his generosity, I wish him all the best and he will always get my MINI money. I have an appointment with my local dealership to get the manifold replaced and will send you the part back as soon as I have it.

cheers

Amit
