When the guy that does my usual press shots found out I bought a mini, he wanted to shoot it, since it could actually fit in his studio. Here are some of the ones I liked the best:
Some good stuff, having looked at gobs of professional car photography this weekend I certainly think a few stand out far more as better than the others, I'd love to get the MINI in a studio, next time I think its only fair if he get some rolling shots, after it gives youthe chance to motor
Thanks for sharing them might want to drop a few in the show oyur face thread as well
LOL! It wasn't too much of a cram... just kinda backed her right in! It was a little scary tho, cuz that 'white cove' distorts any sense of perception...
cool stuff, makes me reeeeally want a studio. I'll have to check out your music when I'm not at work. I see you're in Orange county (cough) there's a few of us down that way who are into photography if you ever get bored (cough)
my flickr link is in my sig.
Congrats on the MINI! and the pics.
Rachael: I think the photos of your MINI are just fantastic! The studio lights give the images a real pro look. TBH, you should go talk with Stoopidgirl (Emily) and ask her to make some photos of -you-. The newspaper guy really doesn't know the first thing about photographing women, I'm sorry to say. You are clearly beautiful, and deserve a slightly more experienced, yet playful, eye to make you "pop" (as they say in the biz.) I think Emily has those things--and imagination to run away with.
Check her out!
cheers, (btw, DS rocks...)

Me, not so much , but I do have plans to work on it.
That's just because you haven't reeeally heard me complain afterwords...I'm horrible with directing, that's why I'm trying to work on it as well. I can photograph myself all day long but telling someone else how to pose and look is an entirely diferent story. Bugs, puppies & cars are easy
Well, not to hijack Rachael's thread--but photographing women is not all that difficult, but for a newspaper guy----maybe. I think there's been a couple of threads both here and on the m|u that highlight women and cars. Not that truck-driver carp with the 90210s and hi heels...but I can just see Rachael--proud MCS owner and attractive female--with her car, and both of them lookin' real good!
And, while I'm picking...the tire tread marks are a total no-no...that's what Photoshop is for (you don't even need CS3b either!
photographing people is not easy when they don't know how to pose, I've learned my lesson(with models and even having my own photo taken). I've been all frustrated trying to photograph people, especially girls (I swear I'm going to force feed my next model beer so they loosen up! hahaha). I think it does take a little something extra to be able to do it though. It think the newspaper guy did a good job concidering it's not really his specialty(you can tell he's better in the studio). The B&W is the obvious winner in this case but yuppers, I would have touched up the tire marks.
finally going to scamper off and listen to Rachel's music
What newspaper guy are we talkin about? I got lost somewhere... hehe
Also, he did keep the photos and he is going to touch them up, these are just some lo-res ones he gave me until then. After about the first 30 minutes of the shoot, he painted over the tread marks in the cove, I guess I just ended up picking the ones before we did that.
Emily - I understand where you're coming from with girls being hard to photograph sometimes.. when I had my first 'real' photoshoot I was stiff as a board... just shy and whatever. I wasn't used to being out in the open like that... not behind the turntables or microphone stand ... it REALLY helps to have someone direct you a bit, which the first guy I worked with didn't at all... needless to say, most of the photos were akward.
If you wanna see some of the shots the guy that did the ones above has done of just me, check these(big files):
