Ok, first off the manual hasn't been to much help on this particular subject. I just need to know how to white-balance my D70s for shooting under artificial lighting. Does anyone hae the D70s that can give me a quick run down on setting white balance?
Don't go through the menus, as they're not very helpful ("Measure" doesn't set the camera up to measure, etc.).
Press the WB button and turn the thumb dial until "Pre" is shown on the top panel. Release all buttons. Then, press and hold the WB button for a few seconds. "Pre" will flash. Take a photo of a gray card, preferably with autoexposure in the lighting environment you aim to balance for. Then "Gd"/"good" will be displayed if it worked, or "NoGd" if not.
The D70 manual used to have this info on page 53.
Gray cards are available for relatively cheap $$$ at Calumet or B&H.
So I adjust it with a grey card? I thought a white card would be used to set it... Or does it matter which you use? Also should I fill the entire frame or just be focused in on it?

Thanks,

It shouldn't matter, as long as they're neutral. You're balancing the color temperature, not the highlight threshold.
