Great carnige shot! To bad that happend though. What's the story behind that?
-Brian
The Porsche had spun and was sitting 90 degrees to traffic. The Lotus was side by side with another car and had nowhere to go. Both drivers were OK. They got out of the cars and shook hands, turns out they're friends.
Thanks!
Jim
Outstanding photos as always Jim, you did very well with the short time you had there.
What was the shutter speed of the crash impact photo? Did you have the presence of mind to change it briefly just before it happened or is it what you were using for the other shots?
Does the shadow really have the odd proportions as depicted in your photos (looks like a guy in a go-kart with a huge motor and wing in the back)?

For every ounce of gas saved by a Toyota Pious, a gallon is wasted by the 20 cars behind it desperately attempting to pass because the typical Pious is driven by what appears to be a stoned, nearsighted geriatric who's also lost and confused and allergic to g-forces higher than .01 just to gain an extra 2 MPG. ...great for photography! Not so hot either. (can anyone tell I live in the AZ?)
Crashes make good photos too. My problem is I get excited and spaz out, resulting in mediocre results. Nice job ace!

Thanks Guys!
The "Ouch" photo was shot at 1/500th @ f4.5 , "ISO"=400 I had been shooting pretty much head on. I saw the Porsche spin and just focused on it thinking something like this would happen. It did.
Yeah, the AVS Shadow is a strange looking car. This is what the Prototype looked like:
This car is now sitting in a shop in Hayward. A friend of mine bought it and a newer Shadow Can Am at the Bonhams auction in Monterey. I've been promised a full days shooting both cars when the restorations are complete.
