FWIW, you can save some serious change if you look at the Panasonic model instead. The price delta was ~$270 for the old model.
Only real difference between the cameras was the jpg image optimization. If you're shooting RAW, it makes no difference.
I'm really enjoying having the manual control of my LX1 and since it's much smaller than my DSLR, it's always in my laptop bag which is typically with me most of the time. If you like to have manual camera control and RAW capability, it makes for a wonderful compact camera to compliment a DSLR.
