Drove up to Shaver Lake this weekend, and snapped a few. Haven't had time to edit, so they are straight from RAW to jpg sized for the web. The tires are so dirty because we took Moni's MINI offroading, and found a great spot on a granite rock overlooking the lake. We are doing that shoot next week. I will edit the photos and color balance and such, but wanted to get some up!
Juan, can you guess which one was for you?
A few non MINI
Handheld ;)
Handheld?!?! Looks to my amateur eyes to be a 1/4 to 1/2 sec exposure. Must have skipped the Starblecks run before leaving for the mountains?
Nice photos and a nice drive!

1/3-1/2, even some 1 sec and 2 second exposure shots were taken. The VR lens helps tame the effects of Starbucks ;)
Yes Juan, I saw the reflection on the window when I was getting out of the MINI to take some pics of the mountains, and told Monica, I gotta get this one for Juan. Not as good as yours, but had you in mind

You must have a surgeon's steady hand then. I'm only able to get about 3 stops more without blur using VR and no way could I pull off a VR handheld 1/2 second exposure. Color me impressed!

Hey thanks a lot! Went back this weekend, and brought the tripod, came out a little better the album is here: http://www.sfbavw.net/gallery/Water
And here are a couple shots. In the album, I increased the shutter speed on some to give you a sample of more rough water with force, rather than a slower shutter with soft, serene water.
