I went out for an early morning photo shoot and thought I'd share some of my results. It's my fist time using flickr (Motor_NAM) so let me know if the links have any issues. I plan on uploading more of my photos to flickr as I touch them up.
Thanks. The reflection is one of my favorite features of the JB, when the MINI is clean the reflection is really clear, I usually think of the car as more of a work of art rather than transportation.
#1 - It's a touch underexposed for the foreground, but the end effect is really nice. The sky detail is very well captured.
#4 - I'm not so sure #4 would be as successful in color. It feels a little tightly cropped on the top. Was there something you were trying to crop out? Regardless, the tracks in the sand add a lot to the image.
For #4 there was a trash can and grass I tr ired to get rid of, I didn't even notice the tracks 'til I climbed up the sand bank, the sand was very pale so it seemed almost natural to go B&W, then added a cooling filter in PS to add a little more contrast.
I think if I was a little more patient, waiting for just a little more light the front would be nicely detailed, and alas I had to tripod so longer exposure was almost completely ruled out, always next time.
I appreciate the critique, every once in a long while I get to do this kind of thing and I am yet to take a picture that meets my standards but feel like I'm getting closer with every book read, advice given and experimentation.
Would you mind posting #1 and #2 here? http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=37950
Tripod is really required. Doesn't the light change quickly? I'm thinking of resurecting a video light, and placing it near the car. It's dirty, maybe not...

I live in Port Orange, I took the photo three beach parking zones north of the ponce inlet light house, if you check my gallery I have a pic in front of the light house at night, also mentioned it in another thread I'm amazed I haven't seen you in the area, seems like there are one or two new MINIs in town every week.
Why aren't you over at www.sunshineminis.org ??? I'm trying to get a regional club started for people like us - DAMM - Daytona Area Mini Motorists. There are a few around town, but not many active online. It's surprising to see you on here but not over at SSM.
I'm fairly new, only had Minvader for a couple months, I work in Daytona, so I'm around town a bit, but since I live north and you live south, our paths probably haven't crossed yet.
Let's get together & work on building a DAMM group! We're planning on heading to the track for the Grand Am race, and I might go for the 24hrs as well... lots of other SSM club events coming up too, check it out!
I too am planning on showing up for the Grand AM and 24hrs. races, I'm acctually the last one to post there. Took me a while to learn enough about MINIs to feel comfortable posting, and I forgot I had the Sunshine account, went to use it last week and it said I was inactive and needed to have an stie admin. fix the issue, so I figured I'd just talk to someone while at the races. I would love to be apart of starting a DAMM, feels like i've been seeing MINIs all over, and even more on frappers and the registry, I think we just need to get the word spread.
