Thanks to every one that voted. Starring in this photo is (L-R) Icarus, from Alpharetta, Ga.; Mr. Magoo from Greensboro, NC and (name unknown) from Mt. Airy, NC. Both Icarus and Magoo were born the same week. Both were first '06 models, born in production week 36.
The location was Highway 64 between Highlands and Franklin, NC. Not to put down the Dragon, but this is definately comparable and a great scenic drive.

Just a tidbit for everyone that hasn't been to this fall in a while. If you notice on the far lower left side of the photo there's a brighter "wedge" protruding into the photo. Well that's actually part of the cliff. That is it was part of the cliff before it fell! RR said that about 50 tons of cliff came sliding down just off to the left of Icarus not too terribly long ago. That thought kept creeping through my mind as Icarus was parked under that ledge! It was fun crawling all over the fallen part though trying to get the right angle for this shoot but alas RR got the best angle!

Yeah, Gr8Force, all along I thought that the road underneath the falls was indestructible until the boulder fell. I, too, wondered abouth the wisdom of placing our cars under the falls. Next time, I will take the photo in the open field.
I had narrowed it down to this pic and the one with the MINI amongst the trees. (I was leaning toward this pic in part because of the Hot Orange Cabrio.)
Great pics as always. Looking forward to the next round.

Pics look great. Who is Melanie from DC? Did she live in this area? Highlands was my home. BTW, the falls that your car is under is called Bridal Veil Falls, not Angel. Also the other falls shown are Dry Falls (the one that you walk under), and Cullasaja Falls (the next one), and Bust you Butt falls (the last one). All these are on the highway from Highlands to Franklin. Your shots are great! Maybe we can have a MINI's to the Falls side trip from the Dragon in May.
She's a DCMM member who went to the Dragon. Haven't seen her in a while. She grew up there.
I and another DCMM'er discovered we both were staying till Monday. I mentioned going on a Water Fall hunt for the Bridal Veil Falls and he decided to do so too. So our two MINI's are running down the road not sure where we were going when we see a third. She hails us on FRS and after telling her what we were searching for she offered us a tour. Yes she grew up there and gave us a tour of those falls, a bare granite mountain top and some great rock formations. And we finished it off with dinner by the water at a great restraurant that was a fave of hers.
I think this side trip is a great idea, especially for those who stay more than the 'core' days. It did take us almost all day to do.

"North Carolina Mountains" by Richards&Richards has a great chapter on the waterfalls of western N.C.You can easily spend 3 days sightseeing & driving twisties. I've done it several times in my Mitsu ragtop which preceded my mini.
